Introduction to Data Communications

Participants will receive an overview of the communications hardware, software, and configuration involved to transmit (data, voice, or video) between terminals, computers, and other devices. Concepts and standards covered include: serial and parallel communications, handshaking, parity, error checking, hardware and software flow control, compression, modem protocols, and modem commands.
8 hours / Prerequisite: Introduction to Windows or equivalent knowledge
